BSides Tampa, a Security Conference held annually in cities around the country, is this Saturday, Feb 2, 2019 at the Embassy Suites. A day not be be missed. Visit BSides Tampa for more information.
Update: I attended BSides Tampa and sat in four presentations that were outstanding. The learning opportunity was well worth the enterance fee. I will definitaly attend next year and looking forward to Orlando in March.
Same great event, but in Orlando next month. Visit BSides Orlando for more information.
This page (still under construction) provides good information for the novice, the enthusiast, and everywhere in between. I'll add great resources, blogs, current events, and questions to ask yourself when it comes to home and corporate InfoSec/Cyber.
ITPro is a fantastic site to develop skills for your general IT knowledge or to study for a certification exam. I am currently enrolled in the Certified Ethical Hacker course and it's depth is sufficient without being overwhelming. Typical one week tree trial and economical monthly subscription rates. Visit itpro.tv for more details.
I listen to with Steve Gibson. This is a very good, sometimes comical, FREE resource. Steve talks about the previous week's security events and often recommends great proactive practices. Show notes are also available. The show airs every week and it's normally 2 hours in length. Visit grc.com/securitynow and you can also follow him on twitter.
Cybrary is another great training source. It has free and subscription services. The paid for services are a bit better than ITPro, but cost more as well.
Following Twitter feeds can be a fruitful and inexpensive way to learn and remain abreast of current events.
