Florida's typical running season is fall through early spring due to the warm and humid summers. The 2018-2019 running season was my best, completing:
Six (6) Half Marathons (13.1 miles)
Four (4) 10 Ks
One (1) 5 Miler
I posted some photos below.
This was supposed to be the first half marathon, but they had to cancel the half and let us run the 10K. So, as disappointing as it was, I made the most of it and had a great run. Beautiful day. https://www.sarasotahalfmarathon.com/
Second race in the challenge. Last year's theme and medal was the Mercury Space program and this one was dedicated to the Gemini program. The weather was perfect. My wife and I spent the great weekend at Cocoa Beach as well, http://www.spacecoastmarathon.com/
Maybe my 10th or 11th year running this classic. This year it was a bit cold, no PR, but it's done. It still continues to be a great race with outstanding support from the fans. https://rungasparilla.com/ Oh, by the way, this 1/2 marathon completed the Burg to Beach to Bayshore Challange. As the name implies, If you run these three 1/2 marathons in a single season you get yet another trophy to hang around your neck.
Good store to purchased running apparel including shoes. Stores are scattered across the Tampa/Sarasota area. Every store has a platform to diagnosis your running pattern and provide good recommendations that fit your running style. It worked for me. Visit www.fit2run.com.
Great running club and a great resource to find Tampa area running events. I've met several members over the past year so I ended up joining. Great group for all runners. Come on out!. Visit RunTampa.com for more information
I was a member several years ago. Great group of people. I just can't participate any longer due to their proximity and my work schedule. They provide some great resources for members and a very comprehensive list of local races. Visit BRC for more information.
